I’m Mehga Patel and I am an illustrator and animator. I value my culture and heritage and spending time in the beautiful outdoors. I was born and raised in Ohio but am originally from Gujarat, India. I love preserving and sharing my culture and language to future generations of kids through my art. I like to practice diligence and kindness and I believe this translates into everything I create.

 

My work includes digital illustrations and motion graphics animations. I enjoy accumulating skills to create in new and exciting ways. My work is clean and simple, yet detailed and meaningful. I often create a reflection of what I admire in the world around me. My color palettes are often soft and muted like the hues of the earth or sometimes bright and vibrant like the cooling hues of water. I love exploring with textures in my illustrations and animations to mimic a natural and earthy look. My favorite things to illustrate are scenes in nature, children, and anything South Asian. I am currently working on adding more animals to the list. I try to inspire people with the beauty of the natural world around us. I value integrity and being honest with people who see my pieces. I strive to show the unbiased and let others come to their own conclusions based on what they see from my work.

When I’m not busy sketching away I am watching movies and shows, spending time with my nieces and nephews, or soaking in some sun.
